What is Component VideoComponent video consists of three signals, luminance (Y) and two colour difference signals (B-Y) and (R-Y). The colour difference signals indicate how much blue and red colour there is relative to the luminance. What about green? The green component is not required as it can be inferred from the red, blue and luminance. Component video outputs are labelled in many different ways, Y B-Y R-Y, YPbPr, or YCbCr, they all mean the same thing. They are also sometimes marked with Red Green and Blue colours to aid in connecting them. Many DVD players support component video output and if your television, plasma screen or projector has component inputs then you will get the best picture by using them. Our component video interconnects are made from high quality cable and feature attractive metal body plugs with gold plated contacts.
