An HDMI Extender is used to send an HDMI signal over a longer distance than would normally possible with a standard HDMI Cable. HDMI Over Ethernet extenders use either 1 or 2 network cables to transfer the HDMI signal up to 120 metres.
An HDMI Booster or repeater is a plug in coupler which gives the signal a boost using its built in electronics, boosters are powered from the HDMI so no external power is required.
