Choosing a TV aerial cable
TV aerial cables carry the signal from a wall socket or aerial to a television, Freeview box or recorder. Most UK TVs and wall plates use the standard coax (Belling Lee) connector, while Sky and satellite equipment uses screw-on F type connectors, so check both ends before ordering.
Double screened cable keeps interference from mobile phones, Wi-Fi and household electrics out of the picture, which matters most on longer runs and in areas with a weaker signal.
Getting the length right
Measure from the wall socket to the TV and allow a little slack so the cable is not under tension. Avoid coiling a long cable behind the TV; a cable that is too long adds loss for no benefit.
