OM1 LC-SC Multimode Duplex Fibre Patch Lead, 1m, Orange

A duplex OM1 fibre lead with LC-SC connectors, made with 62.5 micron multimode (62.5/125) fibre. One fibre carries the transmit signal and the other the receive signal, the arrangement used by almost all fibre transceivers. It supports Gigabit Ethernet runs to about 275 metres, with 10 Gigabit limited to very short links of around 33 metres. It is mostly used to extend, repair or re-patch networks that were originally installed with OM1 cabling, since mixing core sizes on one link causes heavy signal loss.

LC is the small push-and-click connector found on SFP and SFP+ transceivers, modern switches and high-density patch panels. SC is a square push-pull connector, common on older switches, media converters and fibre wall outlets. This lead joins the two types without a separate adapter. Orange has traditionally marked 62.5 and 50 micron multimode fibre.
