Connect fibre equipment with this OS2 duplex patch lead, terminated SC-SC and built on 9 micron single mode (9/125) fibre. One fibre carries the transmit signal and the other the receive signal, the arrangement used by almost all fibre transceivers. It supports 1, 10, 25 and 100 Gigabit Ethernet over distances measured in kilometres, depending on the transceivers used. Single mode fibre links buildings across a campus, connects to carrier and ISP equipment, and is the standard for FTTP and long backbone runs.
SC is a square push-pull connector, common on older switches, media converters and fibre wall outlets on both ends. Yellow is the standard jacket colour for single mode fibre.
Typical uses: cross-connects in comms cabinets, connecting transceivers to wall outlets, and replacing damaged patch leads.
