Extending an aerial lead
An aerial extension cable has a coax plug at one end and a coax socket at the other, so you can extend an existing lead to reach a TV in a new position without replacing it.
For long extensions, or where the signal is already weak, a single new lead of the right length usually gives a better picture than joining several shorter ones.
