About C13 kettle leads
The C13 connector, often called a kettle lead, is the most widely used IEC connector. It fits the C14 inlet found on desktop PCs, monitors, printers, scanners, network switches, routers, servers and much AV equipment. It is rated at 10A.
Our UK plug to C13 leads come with a 5A fuse fitted, the correct rating for computer and AV equipment. Longer leads use thicker 1.0mm conductors.
Choosing the right lead
Pick a length that reaches without leaving loops of spare cable. For offices, schools and public buildings an LSZH (low smoke zero halogen) jacket is often specified, as it gives off little smoke and no toxic halogen gas in a fire. A right angle C13 is useful where the equipment sits close to a wall.
