IEC splitter cables
A splitter cable lets two devices share one power outlet. One plug, either a UK plug or a C14 that fits a C13 outlet on a PDU or UPS, feeds two C13 connectors on short legs. It is a tidy way to power a PC and monitor, or two items in a rack, when outlets are in short supply.
Staying within the rating
Both devices draw through the one plug, so add up their power use and keep it within the rating of the plug and the outlet. A splitter is not a substitute for a proper extension strip or PDU when you need to power several devices.
