40m Ethernet Cables
Our range of 40m ethernet cables is ideal for use in a home or office network. Each cable has an RJ45 network connector each end to plug into your router, network switch or connected device such as set top boxes and smart TVs.
Prices for 40m Ethernet Cables start at £14.11 inc VAT, across 10 options. All of these are 40m in length. There is a choice of colours: Black, Grey and White. Options include CAT5e Economy Network Cable, CAT6 Economy Ethernet Cable for Gigabit Networking, CAT5e Ethernet Cable UTP Full Copper and CAT6 Outdoor Patch Lead UTP PE.
CAT5e, CAT6 or CAT6A?
CAT5e supports Gigabit Ethernet and suits most home and office connections. CAT6 adds headroom for Gigabit and supports 10 Gigabit on runs up to about 55m. CAT6A carries 10 Gigabit over the full 100m and is the choice for servers, NAS drives and multi-gig Wi-Fi access points.
UTP or shielded?
Unshielded (UTP) leads suit most homes and offices. Shielded (FTP or S/FTP) leads help in electrically noisy places such as near mains cables, lighting and machinery, and are standard for CAT6A in data centres.
Snagless, LSZH and colours
Snagless boots protect the RJ45 latch from catching and snapping. LSZH jackets give off little smoke and no toxic gas in a fire, and are often specified in commercial buildings. Colour-coding leads by use makes cabinets easier to manage.
