Connect fibre equipment with this OS2 duplex patch lead, terminated LC-LC and built on 9 micron single mode (9/125) fibre. One fibre carries the transmit signal and the other the receive signal, the arrangement used by almost all fibre transceivers. It supports 1, 10, 25 and 100 Gigabit Ethernet over distances measured in kilometres, depending on the transceivers used. Single mode fibre links buildings across a campus, connects to carrier and ISP equipment, and is the standard for FTTP and long backbone runs.
LC is the small push-and-click connector found on SFP and SFP+ transceivers, modern switches and high-density patch panels on both ends. Yellow is the standard jacket colour for single mode fibre. Green jackets are handy for colour-coding separate systems or customers in a shared rack.
Typical uses: patching between fibre panels and switches, linking SFP ports, and connecting media converters.
