OS2 LC-SC Single Mode Duplex Fibre Patch Lead, 4m, Yellow

This OS2 LC-SC patch lead uses 9 micron single mode (9/125) fibre in a duplex, two-fibre construction. Duplex means two fibres side by side: one to send and one to receive, which is what switch and media converter ports expect. It supports 1, 10, 25 and 100 Gigabit Ethernet over distances measured in kilometres, depending on the transceivers used. Single mode fibre links buildings across a campus, connects to carrier and ISP equipment, and is the standard for FTTP and long backbone runs.
LC is the small push-and-click connector found on SFP and SFP+ transceivers, modern switches and high-density patch panels. SC is a square push-pull connector, common on older switches, media converters and fibre wall outlets. This lead joins the two types without a separate adapter. Yellow is the standard jacket colour for single mode fibre.
