OS2 ST-ST Single Mode Duplex Fibre Patch Lead

This OS2 ST-ST patch lead uses 9 micron single mode (9/125) fibre in a duplex, two-fibre construction. Duplex means two fibres side by side: one to send and one to receive, which is what switch and media converter ports expect. It supports 1, 10, 25 and 100 Gigabit Ethernet over distances measured in kilometres, depending on the transceivers used. Single mode fibre links buildings across a campus, connects to carrier and ISP equipment, and is the standard for FTTP and long backbone runs.

ST uses a round bayonet twist-lock, still found on many established fibre installations on both ends. Yellow is the standard jacket colour for single mode fibre.
